TruTite Wras Approved TM Pipe Sealing Cord

TRUTITE Pipe Sealing Cord, is a threaded pipe and fitting cord sealant, suitable for potable water applications, the cord is released easily from from our tub with in built cutter on to pipe threads. We recommend our Pipe Sealing Cord for creating a non leak barrier on any plastic and metal tapered pipe threads and fittings up to 4”nb/ 114od. It is best suited for commercial and domestic applications for any pipework including potable water and comes with full WRAS approval. Our cord is really effective for threaded pipework that require immediate use, the cord will allow small adjustments before its quick drying time before use. The product can be used in applications up to 149°C.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Clean your pipework with a wire brush before any TRUTITE Pipe Cord is applied.

  2. Unscrew the lid and pull out the end of TRUTITE Pipe Sealing Cord ensuring you have enough to start wrap

ping around the male nipple, hold the end of the TRUTITE Pipe Sealing Cord with your thumb around two

    threads away from the end.

  3. Start winding the cord onto your pipe in the same direction of the pipe thread helix starting from the end

of the pipe. PLEASE NOTE, it is not necessary to follow the valley of the thread. For best results, the grooves of the pipe thread should be filled without completely masking the pitches of the thread. Take care to not apply too much TRUTITE Pipe Sealing Cord. Excessive pipe cord will prevent the pipe fitting being screwed in and can cause the cord to come loose from the pipe. You will also find it more difficult to seal your fitting.

  4. Once you have placed the cord on your pipe work, you can cut the cord using the inbuilt cutting tool in our TRUTITE tub and then smooth the loose end onto the pitches of the pipe thread, this can then be resealed ready for its next use.

  5. Once you have tightened the TRUTITE Pipe Sealing Cord it can still be adjusted by approximately 45°.
